Kamm & Shapiro, Professional Corporation has represented numerous financial institutions, small business owners and individuals for more than 20 years on a variety of legal matters, including commercial litigation, loan documentation, foreclosures, Chapter 7 Bankruptcies Reaffirmations, Chapter 11 reorganizations and Chapter 13 Bankruptcies, Motions for relief from Stay, collection litigation, workouts, modification agreements, real estate closings on REO properties, commercial and residential real estate closings, and commercial leases.  Our clients have always expressed satisfaction with our legal services.

We service both routine consumer collection problems and more complex legal matters and our fee schedule is essentially two-tiered to reflect this.  We charge flat rates and contingent fees (for collections) on consumer matters and hourly for defense and complex litigation, appeals, loan documentation, Chapter 11 bankruptcies, etc.

Kamm & Shapiro, Professional Corporation was formed in 1977.  There are two partners, Robert M. Kamm and Jerold J. Shapiro.  We handle routine matters both efficiently and effectively while we are also experienced in complex commercial litigation involving statutory and regulatory interpretation.  We pride ourselves on our ability to obtain excellent results at a fair cost, characteristics which have not gone unnoticed by our clients: we were recognized by a national publication, The American Lawyer, as one of only a handful of Chicago firms most recommended by corporate general counsel dealing with outside legal vendors.

All of our fees are exclusive of costs.  We generally will advance those costs (filing fees, sheriff’s fees, recording fees etc.) which are billed on a monthly basis together with our fees and remittances.  Depending on the client’s preference, on contingency fee collection, we can either send the amounts collected in gross, or the net amounts due after deduction of attorneys fees and costs.
